A COLLECTIVE JOURNEY THROUGH AN INNER REVOLUTION

about

DISCOVER

We work in the education, wellbeing, and media content spaces. Inspired by spiritual seekers, scientists, educators, writers, and radical changemakers, this is our little offering to them and the world. In fact, we take wisdom from contemplative traditions, such as Yoga, Vedanta, Buddhism, Bhakti, Sufism, and many more to transform ourselves, content, and classrooms.

From the logo to the intent and process, we are guided by the analogy of the inverted banyan tree, as described in the ancient wisdom philosophies of India. While our roots are an unified, collective existence, the beautiful branches represent our individuality and selfhood.

WHO WE ARE

Moved by the contemplative philosophers, revolutionaries, educators, and ancient seers who actualized in others and themselves that “We are inherently free, unbound,” we started this experiment, The Roots Movement (Realizing Our Own True Selves).

It is an offering, an experiment that asks the question - how can the doer and listener/engager both grow as students in this journey of Self-study?

Education

INQUIRE

The classroom has looked a certain way: metal chairs, wooden desks, whiteboards, heavy textbooks, and maybe a window or fan…for over a century. The rate of progress, holistically, has been exponential, whether that be technological, social, political, or economical. While everything from young people’s consumer habits, thinking, food, and clothes have shifted drastically, has the educational space responded? Do the aesthetics, curriculum, and pedagogy parallel the shifts in culture? How is it that we respond to job markets but not the mind and inner potential of young learners and educators?

The ROOTS Movement Education initiative enhances the learning experience of teachers, professionals, and students of all ages by concentrating on 3 pillars: sense of self, creativity, empathy.
